Simpler Times

I remember my childhood days, we played and made friends everywhere we went and the only thing that could stop us from playing was our parents.

We wouldn’t mind walking very long distances just to go see our friends, even if it was just to spend five minutes with them.

Afterwards, we would play the escorting game where I saw you off till I got to your house and then you saw me off till I got to my house, till eventually it got dark and we had to stop halfway.

Those were simpler times, now children don’t even get to know who the children in the next house from theirs are all in the name of modernization and advancement.

The only forms of friendships kids crave these days are the types they make on their mobile phones and social media platforms. So, I have to ask, is the world getting better or do we need to take a step back?
