The first time he hit her, she was in shock and couldn’t believe that the man she had been with for over six months, could be so violent. She didn’t do anything because she wasn’t sure what was happening.
Before long, he apologized and told her he would never do it again and that he didn’t know what came over him and she believed it, he got her gifts and pampered her and she felt all was right with the world.
Not long after that, he hit her again, and the apologies and gifts flowed all over again. Hitting her then became a regular occurrence and she kept telling herself that he loved her and wouldn’t hurt her on purpose.
Two years after and it was the same routine and she had hidden injuries all over her body and she kept making excuses for him, till the day he nearly killed her.
She woke up in the hospital with him buy her side, crying like the world was ending, she was surrounded by flowers. He was holding her hands, weeping and apologizing.
That was the moment she knew that, he would never stop and she had to leave him. Love was not always perfect but it shouldn’t have to hurt as much as she had been hurt and she never let any man hit her ever again.
